What is Eight Characters Numerology?

Fortune telling based on the eight characters, also known as "four pillars prediction" or "eight characters of birth", is an important part of traditional Chinese numerology. Historical Background：The prototype of fortune-telling with eight characters can be traced back to the Han Dynasty. In the Tang Dynasty, Li Xuzhong first used the three pillars of year, month and day to predict fate. In the Song Dynasty, Xu Ziping developed it into a complete "four pillars and eight characters" (one pillar for each year, month, day and hour), so eight-character fortune-telling is also called "Ziping technique".
